Is “Dati Leumi” in Israel the same at “Modern Orthodox” elsewhere?
Is “Chareidi” in Israel the same as “Yeshivish” elsewhere?
What are their respective views of secular studies, engaging in the modern world, and serving in the IDF?
What are the most common misperceptions each has of the other, and what can each learn from the other?

i very much enjoyed listening to the class on dati leumi. Rabbi Breitowittz was very bright, and the last rabbi was inspirational. (Maybe i would like to have his email)
The main thing that i gained from the class is what the chareidim have to do. Basically, it is to respect the dati l’eumi crowd. The anger and the hatred and the misunderstanding is causing the dati crowd to be disinterested in Torah, and they are falling away.
Also, yonoson Rosenblum said that teh chareidim’s place is to not push away the people whho are interested in teshuvah. he didn’t elaborate, but i understood this to mean to lessen the anger, the name calling, to show more respect and humanism, and they won’t feel attacked by te people who are carrying the banner of religion and Torah.
The dati le’umi could do their share in that realm as well, to respeect and to honor the chareidim. the last speaker made it sound like the judge did nothing seriously wrong, and he ddoesn’t want to change us, and so on. well, he certianly doesn’t consider our concerns and opinions worth considering, so that doesnt show much respect, either.
the situation of hatred, division, is a problem – especially since it is pushing away potential teshuvah, and it is good to know where to work on improving.
