It would be very interesting to ask Rabbi Meiselman, who seems to take an uncompromising position on chazal’s knowledge vis-a-vis Science, how it can be that chazal seemed sufficiently unaware of the dangers of smoking that rabbinim did a 180 on it within my lifetime.
