Revisiting Bachurim in the IDF: Is Shevet Levi Patur from Milchemes Mitzvah? Are all Bochurim Shevet Levi?

I need to comment on the recent podcast on the charedi draft.

If you need a proof that the army needs more soldiers then look at my husband’s unit who has been out since October 7th with a break of 6 weeks in the middle. This is a miluim unit so they all have regular jobs and most soldiers are fathers. These fathers including my husband have missed out on the last 6 months of their families lives. They missed Chanukah, Purim, and now pesach. There are THOUSANDS of wives who are exhausted because this has been going on for too long. Is it too much to ask that we take turns? If Charedi men would serve there perhaps would be a unit who could take over my husbands unit and give the men and their families a much needed break. To pretend that the army doesn’t need more soldiers is just plain cruel at this time.

I need to add למען האמת (וכדי לקיים ‘והייתם נקיים’), what was reported this week (https://www.bhol.co.il/news/1655605), that in R’ Meller’s second volume of the biography on הגרמ”ד זצ”ל, there was a l’chayim in the home of R’ Velvel, which is in a certain way an הסכמה to the new sefer.

It is possible that R’ Meller instituted new guidelines for the new book, thereby ‘getting the OK’.
